About the Scholarship
Auto Renu Auto Glass LLC is a locally-owned mobile auto glass company serving 27 cities across the East Bay and Contra Costa County. We believe that safe driving starts with education — and we want to support the next generation of safe, responsible East Bay drivers.
Each year, we award a $500 scholarship to one East Bay college student who demonstrates academic merit and a commitment to safe driving and community involvement. The award is paid directly to the recipient's college or university to offset tuition, fees, or books.
Eligibility Requirements
- Currently enrolled or accepted for enrollment at a California community college, CSU, or UC campus
- Primary residence in the East Bay or Contra Costa County (ZIP codes 94500–94599, 94700–94799, 94800–94899)
- Minimum 2.5 GPA (high school senior) or 2.8 GPA (current college student)
- Valid California driver's license (or learner's permit for high school seniors)
- No at-fault accidents or DUI convictions within the past 3 years
- U.S. citizen or permanent resident

Write a 500–700 word essay
Respond to the prompt: "Describe a time when safe driving — your own or someone else's — made a meaningful difference. What did you learn, and how has it shaped your approach to being a responsible driver and community member?"

Gather your documents
Include: (1) current unofficial transcript or high school GPA report, (2) proof of California residency (utility bill or driver's license), (3) proof of enrollment or acceptance letter.

Wait for review
All applications are reviewed by Auto Renu's owners between October 1–31. The winner is contacted by email and announced on this page.

Can I apply if I attend a college outside the East Bay?
Yes — as long as your primary residence is in the East Bay or Contra Costa County, you may attend any California college or university.
Is the scholarship renewable?
The scholarship is a one-time award per recipient. Previous winners may not re-apply.
Will the award affect my financial aid?
You may need to report the award to your financial aid office. Contact your school's financial aid department for guidance.
Can I apply if I don't own a car?
Yes. The scholarship is about driving safety awareness and community responsibility, not vehicle ownership.
